In news that will probably surprise only Bob Lutz, GM is lowering their sales expectations for the upcoming HHR. While it was initially projected to find 100,000 new buyers every year, GM now expects it to sell a more modest 60,000 units annually. Chevrolet marketing manager Jim Campbell stated, "If we can press higher, we will. We have some hard work to do." That doesn't sound like confidence. The vehicle should hit showrooms by mid-October. Initial dealer allocations for the HHR will be determined by two factors: 1) that dealer's sales of the Aveo, Cobalt, and Equinox; and 2) local sales of the PT Cruiser, xB, and Element.
