Now you know we couldn't have WRX/EVO week without giving the GC8 some love, right

Before the bugeyes, the STI and even the base WRX came to our shores, the Impreza 2.5RS was the closest thing any of us here in the States could get to AWD, rally-inspired goodness. The base 2.5-liter boxer left much to be desired in the motivation department, so alwu22 dispatched the stock, naturally aspirated mill and threw in the turbocharged powerplant from an '02 USDM WRX.

With that out of the way, the mods ndash; and money ndash; flowed into the two-door McRae-mobile in the form of an upgraded turbo, exhaust plumbing, fuel delivery and cooling, all tuned up via a Cobb Accessport. No word on what kind of power is being made at the wheels, but judging by the selection of a FP 18G snail, we'd expect over 300 horses finding their way to the pavement.

The suspension mods are typical GC8 fare, pulling the larger front sway bar from a WRX and dropping the Impreza via KYB struts and Perrin springs. Rolling stock consists of 18-inch Volk LE37T's, wrapped in Nitto 555. And while scoping the ride height, it'd be a shame not to point out Mr. 22's love of the Version 5/6 STI bodywork that make the formerly staid Subie look the 'biz.

How to submit to RR of the Day:
Create a Flickr account if you don't already have one. Search for and join the group called 'automk RR of the Day'. Upload up to three photos of your ride to your own account at a size no larger than 450 pixels wide if possible and include as much information about it and yourself as possible.
