Sterling Bullet quietly debuts in wake of Geneva

Sterling Bullet quietly debuts in wake of Geneva

Believe it or not, there's other news being made in the auto industry besides what's coming out of Switzerland. Sterling Truck Corporation took the wraps off of its Bullet class 4/5 medium duty chassis cab today at the National Truck Equipment Association Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, for example. Not surprisingly, we decided to skip this show, but the hard working folks at Pickuptruck.com already have an article up on the new truck. Based on the recently unveiled Ram 4500/5500, the Sterling Bullet (great name) shares its looks with the recently unveiled Ram 4500/5500, but gets it own options and configurations to differentiate it from Dodge's heavy-duty truck. Though they're built on the same platform, and at the same plant for that matter, you can only buy a Bullet from a genuine Sterling truck dealer. One nifty feature it has that the Ram lacks is a Power Takeoff Package that allows the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel to act as a generator and power auxiliary equipment.

Pickuptruck.com reports the other advantage in buying a Sterling might be its dedicated service network that's open longer hours than your typical Dodge dealer. Pretty much everything else the Bullet and Ram share, like powertrain and transmissions, as well as convenience options like cruise control, power trailer tow mirrors and even a navigation system. These big work brutes should be available from Sterling by this fall. In lieu of a press release, you can click the Read link to get the nitty gritty details on the Bullet from Pickuptruck.com
