Click the image above for our gallery.Porsche let it slip early this morning that the new Porsche 911 Turbo convertible will be released on September 8th. The drop top 997 variant of the Turbo will come equipped with the same engine as the coupe, namely the 3.6-liter, twin-turbo flat-six, producing 480 HP and 457 ft.-lbs. of twist. Top speed is the same, as is the 0 to 60 time of 3.8 seconds.
Naturally, when engineers remove the roof, structural reinforcements and added rollover protections are necessary. The Turbo convertible is no different, so those bent on enjoying the 911 sans roof are forced to incur a 154-pound penalty.
The roof can open and close in about 20 seconds and the speed-deployed spoiler sits 30 mm higher than its coupe sibling. Check the
